A lavish six-hour party capped off a three-day celebration of the 20th Anniversary of EagleRider at its international headquarters in Hawthorne, Calif.

Celebrities and dignitaries were on hand, ranging from politicians Congresswoman Maxine Waters and Mayor Daniel "Danny" Juarez, to musicians Gilby Clarke (formerly of Guns N' Roses) and DJ Splyce.

Thursday and Friday featured all-day sales, food, and entertainment, with the biggest celebration saved for Saturday. The day opened with a tent sale, EagleRider merchandise, bands, DJs, food trucks, and a motorcycle stunt show. Concurrently, a charity poker run benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation satisfied the urge to ride on a warm Southern California summer day.

Things got hotter at 8 p.m., as Anthem, followed by Metal Shop, took the stage set up in on of EagleRider's giant service areas. An EagleRider Girls fashion show and Charity Casino kept things heated up until the event's 2 a.m. close.

EagleRider president and co-founder Chris McIntyre enthusiastically proclaimed, "this celebration is a culmination of 20 years of blood, sweat and tears so to speak as we pioneered the motorcycle rental and travel industry. We want to thank our loyal customers and partners with a night to remember, but at the same time, we are thrilled to support Make-A-Wish and continue our commitment to giving back to the community. We look forward to another 20 years of defining the motorcycle industry and fulfilling dreams around the globe."

EagleOne was proudly displayed, the 20-year-old Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail that was the company's first rental bike and McIntyre's personal bike. From a stable of four bikes in 1992, EagleRider now has over 4,000 bikes available for rent.

In its first 20 years, EagleRider has had the philosophy of "We Rent Dreams" for its customers. During the past two decades, EagleRider claims to have served over 500,000 customers (with more than 60,000 customers last year) purchased over $250 million in motorcycles and accessories since 1992, has the largest selection of motorcycles used for touring and sales (the most popular of its inventory base are Harley-Davidson's Electra Glide Classic, Road King and Heritage Softail Classic), pioneered the motorcycle tour experience with the Route 66, the Wild West and Pacific Coast Tour routes among more than 50 guided and self-drive tours in its inventory, and grown American tourism to international travelers wanting to live the American Dream (foreign rentals account for more than 50-percent of its overall revenue, led by Germany, UK, France and Canada) and EagleRider is experiencing accelerated growth in Brazil, China and Eastern Europe.

2012 AMA Motocross

Spoiler Alert: 2012 AMA Motocross results from Washougal MX Park in Washington listed below

Round eight of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing headed to the Pacific Northwest Saturday, the grid vying for points at Washougal MX Park in Washington.

And for the sixth consecutive round, Red Bull KTM's Ryan Dungey was successful, the Minnesota native taking the overall victory. But unlike the last five rounds, it wasn't a sweep; Dungey was beat by his 2012 MX rival, MotoConcepts Suzuki's Mike Alessi, in the first moto. But Dungey returned to his dominate ways, taking a champion-convincing win in the second moto.

Joining Dungey on the overall podium was Alessi and Team Chaparal Honda's Andrew Short.

Alessi grabbed the holeshot in the opening moto of the 450 Class and set a fast pace early on, with Jeff Ward Racing Kawasaki's Josh Grant, and Monster Energy Kawasaki's Jake Weimer in tow. Following a fourth-place start, Dungey quickly began to move his way forward and positioned himself behind Alessi on the second lap.

Dungey soon eliminated his deficit to Alessi and applied pressure for the lead. After several attempts to pass, Dungey lost traction on Lap 12 and fell, remounting in second, but dropping nearly seven seconds back. Just two laps later, Dungey was once again on Alessi's rear wheel, but the Suzuki rider withstood the advances yet again to claim a hard-earned victory, ending Dungey's 10-moto winning streak.

In Moto 2, Dungey made short work of the field, securing the holeshot and quickly asserting himself as the rider to beat by establishing a multi-second lead on the opening lap. The KTM rider led all 15 laps to tie Alessi in points for the day, but secured the tiebreaker over his rival by virtue of the better second-moto result.

Ryan Dungey (Red Bull KTM 450 SX-F Motocross) says: "It was fun (out there). I was riding in second (behind Alessi) and I was up on him, but I had a hard time making the pass. I had a (moto-winning) streak going and I was happy with it, but at the end of the day, winning every moto doesn't get (the championship) done. If anything, it was a kick in motivation to go a little harder, which I did in the second moto."

Alessi's runner-up effort (1-2) was highlighted by his first moto win since the 2010 season and the inaugural moto victory for the Spokane-based MotoConcepts team. Team Chaparral Honda's Andrew Short took the final spot on the podium in third (3-4).

Dungey's lead in the 450 Class standings remains at 80 points over Alessi.

In the 250 Class, GEICO Honda's Justin Barcia raced to his second victory of the 2012 season, following a strong and consistence outing.

Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin, of France, set the tone early in the first moto by capturing the holeshot and opening up a comfortable advantage over the field. Musquin continued to lead for the majority of the moto with his sights set on a first-career moto win, but was passed by Barcia on the eleventh lap. Barcia fended off his teammate Eli Tomac the rest of the way, while Musquin followed in third.

In Moto 2, Barcia took advantage of a strong start to open up a slight lead over points leader Blake Baggett, who was looking to overcome his own misfortune in the opening moto. The duo paced one another for nearly the entire moto before Baggett made a late pass on Lap 13 to steal the win and secure a spot on the overall podium.

Barcia's second-place effort in the final moto was enough to claim the overall win, with Tomac in second (2-3) and Baggett in third (6-1).

Justin Barcia (GEICO Honda CRF250R Motocross) says: "The first moto was awesome, I had to ride really hard. I just kind of got sick getting roosted, so I made the pass. In the second moto, I got a good start and was riding great, but Blake (Baggett) pressured me and I ended up losing my front end with a couple laps to go. The last two years here I've really struggled, but after today I'm happy."

After losing valuable points in the first moto, Baggett's win in Moto 2 minimized his total points lost to seven, giving him an 11-point lead heading into the next round.

Blake Baggett (Monster Energy Kawasaki KX250F Motocross) says: "I just made a mistake and tried going faster than I could go. I had a couple falls, so I just went back and regrouped. I made some changes between motos and I guess they worked."

The Women's Motocross Championship was also in action on Saturday, with the sixth of eight rounds this summer. After suffering a broken hand just a few weeks ago, points leader Jessica Patterson was looking to maintain her advantage aboard her Rockstar Energy Racing Suzuki.

At the end of two motos, Team Honda Muscle Milk's Ashley Fiolek prevailed with her third win of the season (1-1), while Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil Honda's Tarah Gieger finished second (3-2), and MotoConcepts Honda's Mariana Balbi finished third (4-3). Patterson was in position to claim the overall win, leading the early portion of the second moto, but misfortune relegated her to a fourth-place finish overall (2-8). However, Patterson maintains possession of the points lead, holding just a two-point advantage over Gieger.

The 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will take a break from competition and resumes August 11, with round nine from Moto-X 338 in Southwick, Mass.

Hector Barbera Training Crash

While training in his hometown in Spain for the upcoming US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca, Pramac Racing Ducati's Hector Barbera sustained some injury.

His team reports that the 25-year-old broke his left fibula and shinbone during the "training mishap," though it wasn't reported what type of training Barbera was performing.

Barbera will undergo surgery Saturday morning at the Instituto Universitario USP Dexeus in Barcelona. Dr. Xavier Mir, chief of the plastic surgery unit who had previously treated Barbera for injuries during the 2010 MotoGP season, and his crew will perform the surgery.

On Saturday, Dr. Mir will re-examine Barberá to determine the estimated recovery time needed in order to see the Spaniard back on his Ducati. The Pramac Racing Team will wait for the surgery's result to decide the plans for the foreseeable future.

Barbera's best finish of 2012 MotoGP was seventh at Assen.

2012 Brno World Superbike Superpole results

Kawasaki Racing Team's Tom Sykes piloted his Ninja ZX-10R to full effect in qualifying once again to take his seventh Tissot-Superpole win of the year at Bruno Saturday afternoon.

En route to his pole, Sykes set a new track best of 1:58.010 seconds at Brno on the second Superpole session, declared wet after a small smattering of rain, but eventually held in dry conditions.

Joining Sykes on the front row will be Althea Ducati's Carlos Checa, Aprilia Racing Team's Eugene Laverty and Althea Ducati's Davide Giugliano.

Superpole 2 was interrupted by an oil spill on the track, which claimed several riders as they fell on the slippery track surface. After a long delay thanks to necessary track cleaning a new schedule was announced.

The planned restart was once more delayed by a fall of rain on one part of the circuit. A wet Superpole was called but the eventual second and final 20 minute "wet" Superpole session took place in the dry, allowing Sykes to set his new best time.

Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team ZX-10R Superbike) says: "I think overall things are looking not too bad for tomorrow. I think there is no question that the Kawasaki and I have got the speed to do this sort of thing in one lap.

"In terms of race performance we will see how we go but I am fairly confident for the races tomorrow. We have tried three different tires and got a lot of information this weekend. Hopefully we can convert pole position but that has been difficult this year. I am sure I will sleep well tonight and come out swinging tomorrow."

The second row is headed up by BMW Motorrad's Marco Melandri, who will be joined by Honda World Superbike's Jonathan Rea, BMW Motorrad's Leon Haslam, and BMW Motorrad Italia GoldBet's Michel Fabrizio.
